Why Hang Dry Your Clothes?

Delicate fabrics: activewear, underwear jeans, can lose their shape and fit because of  the tumbling and heat of the dryer. By air drying your clothes and laying them out to dry on any flat surface, you give them a chance to maintain the same fit and form they had when you first saw and bought them.
But, if your garment is made of synthetics, wool, or lace – check the label before doing anything. Check to see if it’s a hang dry item.

How to hang dry?

Underwear and bras: In case of underwear hang it from opposite sides of the upper seams, while the bras from their hook end.

Shirts and tops: Hang them upside down and place the clothespins at opposite ends of the shirt or top and pin to the clothesline.

Pants: They should as well be hung upside down. Make sure to match the inner leg seams of the pants, and then put the clothespins on the hems.

Bed linens: Everyone knows that sheets and blankets can take up a lot of space on the clothesline, that’s why you can fold them in half and pin each end to the clothesline.

Socks: Socks should be hung in pairs and upside down, too.

If you don’t have enough space to lay everything flat to dry, prioritize your clothes. Sweaters and other garments from heavier material should always be laid flat to dry, whereas other garment types like yoga pants, swimsuits, jeans can be hung inside.

Hanging your clothes takes more time and effort, but it can help some of your favorite garments last a lot longer and stay looking great for a longer period.
